We had a lot of data, but little transparency. With the introduction of the econ system, we are now able to visualize the savings achieved and also quantify them in monetary terms by storing prices for electricity, heat, etc. With econ, we have also created the basis for truly intelligent peak load management, which we plan to implement soon.

In the run-up to the project, we looked at several energy management systems. We chose econ because it was the easiest to implement and integrate. With the help of econ, we were able to integrate our existing meters, especially those of our energy supplier, as well as various KNX systems into the system, so that the energy-relevant data is also automatically transferred from the system to the econ4 software and evaluated.

The topic of 'load management' is still on our agenda in order to reduce peak loads in the company. There are some concerns from production here because there is a fear that machines will simply be switched off to reduce peak loads. But I am convinced that there are clever control systems with which this won't be necessary and we can still achieve considerable savings. We certainly also rely on the experts from econ, BFE and MVV - here we always have someone professional to talk to about all energy issues.
